Many of our patients will tell you that dental implants have changed not only their smiles, their overall appearances but also their lives.
The list below shows an overview of the process of getting a dental implant and usually, the preparation of a dental implant takes longer than the implant procedure itself:
1. Initial Consultation
During the consultation, a dentist will access your oral health by taking an X-Ray of your mouth and evaluate your eligibility of having dental implant.
If you're eligble for dental implant and have good oral health, you can schedule a second appointment for procedure. However, if you have periodontal disease, the dentist will have to treat the problems before doing the dental implant.
2. Dental Implant and Healing Procedure
The dentist will have make a small incision on your gum to place the implant in your tooth socket.
After the dental implantation, you are required to let it heal for about 3 months and proceed with the second part of the dental implant procedure. The dentist will then place a healing abutment to induce the healing of the surrounding gum tissue. After a few weeks, it will be remove and replaced with an abutment which is necessary to support the dental crown.
3. Dental Crown
After the dental implant is done, the dentist will take a dental crown impression and sent to the lab for manufacturing. After the dental crown is manufactured, the dentist will issue the crown on your dental implant. You can now walk out of our clinic and smile confidently!
